About Johnny BaBa
Four years ago, Johnny BaBa made the life-changing decision to sell his business in Limerick, move his family to Manchester and risk everything on a venture that would see him go onto become one of the most successful entrepreneurs in his field. In November 2013, Barber Barber officially opened its doors and immediately became a runaway success. The brand quickly expanded, opening stores in Leeds, Birmingham, London and Liverpool.
Fast forward to present day and the brand continues to go from strength to strength. Having recently opened another two stores in Hale, Cheshire and in the iconic Soho area, further expansion is on the horizon with several other sites set to follow (nationwide) alongside the development of a bigger and better store in the brand’s birthplace, Manchester. Key to this expansion will be the Barber Barber Academy and the pioneering haircutting system called SystemiK developed by Johnny BaBa and Head of Education, Dale Ted Watkins.
SystemiK takes the fear out of technical learning with a practical and easy to follow system of the complete barbershop methods, which can be taught in six months. With two state of the art academies in London and Manchester, these will fuel the growth of the Barber Barber group.
2019 will see the launch of the first international Barber Barber in the United States. With Johnny’s relentless work ethic and dedication to offering his customers nothing but the absolute best, Barber Barber is set to become a global force to be reckoned with. His story serves as inspiration to any aspiring entrepreneur who has dreams of turning their own ideas into a reality.
Johnny BaBa has headed up the hair team for luxury menswear brand Joshua Kane at London Fashion Week and has been Men’s Hair Lead for the Style Masters Paris Show (Parc de Versaille). He has also been a judge in the American Crew All Star Challenge for two years running (the largest mens hair competition in the world with over 5,000 entries annually from around the world).
